Foster A Dream plants seeds of promise in children living in foster care by providing meaningful experiences that expand their perspective on life and inspire them to believe they can achieve.We invest in helping foster youth become productive citizens and sustain self sufficiency, by being a guiding source for successful transition into the adult world.There are over 60,000 foster youth in California Over 4,000 will turn 18 each year and have the leave foster care and face these statistics 65% will not have a place to live 51% will not have a job 70% will want to go to college, Less than 3% will go, Less than 1% will graduateFoster children comprise less than 3% of our State's population and yet 40% of persons living in homeless shelters are former foster youth and 70% of our prison inmates have spent some time in foster care.We can not ignore these staggering statistics!
