Civic & Social Organization - Herndon, Virginia, United States
FAITH Social Services began at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Center, as an informal group of volunteers assisting those in need. In October 1999, FAITH Social Services was formally established. FAITH has been able to uplift people from poverty and domestic abuse and put them on the path towards self-sufficiency.FAITH assists low-income people with emergency and temporary assistance needed to address the consequences of a traumatic event or time in their life. In addition, FAITH's Self-Sufficiency Program offers individuals and families with case management, housing, assistance with processing applications for rent, medical expenses, transportation, food, utilities, education, childcare and other forms of assistance. FAITH also promotes stable families by providing victims of domestic violence with crisis counseling, safety planning, legal representation, court advocacy, translation services, financial assistance and support from the moment they leave an abuser to the point where they are settled in a new situation. FAITH considers the needs of every person in a client's family and works to place each of them solidly on the path towards self-sufficiency.
