n 15th century Venice lived an ordinary monk that drew an extraordinary map. From Marco Polo's famous trip to China, Fra Mauro was able to take Polo's collection of maps, among others, and create the most accurate map of the medieval world. Even today, when observing his original map alongside the satellite image, NASA describes the comparison as "stunning" and notes how accurate parts of the map are considering the methods that were available at the time. Fast forward to the 21st century and travelers may no longer be depending on a map to find their way to China, but none the less, many are still in need of guidance. Our team of Americans know that China is easily one of the most misunderstood countries on the planet. Because of this and other challenges foreign teachers face, Fra Mauro was founded. Fra Mauro's main goal is to continue to narrow the cultural and professional gap between China and the West.
