FractalMaterials offers unique products based on Nanoporous Anodic Aluminum Oxide (AAO).AAO is a self-organized ceramic material with a honeycomb-like structure formed by arrays of uniform and parallel nanopores (pores with diameters of 5-500 nm) and lengths from a few tens of nanometers to few hundred micrometers. Highly ordered AAO is formed spontaneously by electrochemical oxidation (anodization) of aluminum in certain acidic solutions.The utility of AAO in science and technology is enabled by its structure and chemistry which can be controllably engineered at the nanoscale over very large areas and in practical formats. FractalMaterials has developed a unique fabrication method that allows for rapid prototyping of a wide variety of macroscopic shapes with well defined nanoprous structures.
