The Frances Taylor Foundation provides a wide range of social care and support services, for people with learning disabilities and also for older people. The Foundation prides itself on the training and development offered to staff to enable them to offer person centred support, and safe and effective care. Services include care homes, a nursing home, supported living, day activity services and home and community support. This is a highly visible and regulated sector, and the recent introduction of the national Care Certificate presents new challenges. We support about 350 individuals, and employ around 450 staff to do so. Our services and our employment are open to all – people from a variety of backgrounds, and people of any faith or none. We are an Edexcel-accredited centre for the Qualification Credit Framework, and have the Investors in People Bronze award. In addition to the care and support provided by the Frances Taylor Foundation, the wider charity - the Poor Servants of the Mother of God - operates a number of conferences, retreat and prayer centres and staff work to run these and also to support the communities of religious sisters. This international Catholic Congregation was founded in 1872 by Frances Taylor.
