Francesca Maffeo Gallery is an independent photography gallery for Contemporary and Historical Photography. Showcasing the work of both emerging and established contemporary photographers, the gallery is dedicated to providing a welcoming space to experience, acquire and collect photography. The acquisition of knowledge and provision of education are the foundation of the Francesca Maffeo Gallery, and each gallery exhibition provides an educational experience through accompanying artists' talks and critical texts. In addition to the sale of photography, we promote the experience of engaging with and contemplating photography, offering the freedom to ‘simply look'.Founded in 2015 by Francesca Genovese, Francesca Maffeo Gallery will open its doors in June 2016, and is named in honour of Francesca's grandmother. Francesca Genovese's background is as a contemporary photographic artist and a lecturer in photography; she has managed photography departments in Further and Higher Education since 1999, and received her MA in Photographic Studies from the University of Westminster in 2003.
