Philanthropy - Chicago, IL, United States
Fresh Taste is a funder collaborative formed in 2002 by a group of foundations with a shared philanthropic commitment to sustainable agriculture and food systems. Our geographic focus is on the "Chicago foodshed," roughly a 200-mile area surrounding Chicago, Illinois. Together we envision a future where all metro Chicago residents will eat mostly healthy, locally-produced fruits, vegetables, whole grains, meat, and dairy products. Current members of the Fresh Taste funder collaborative include: The Chicago Community Trust, Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, J.R. Albert Foundation, Kinship Foundation, Leo S. Guthman Fund, Liberty Prairie Foundation, The Lumpkin Family Foundation, Stuart Family Foundation, and Walter S. Mander Foundation, with participation from the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development. We welcome additional members; please contact us to learn more.
