We founded Friends of Chimps in 2008 after a visit to the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Uganda sparked our passion for both the chimpanzees and the dedicated staff caring for them. Our mission is to support chimpanzee sanctuaries worldwide, protect wild chimpanzee populations and empower local communities to be stewards of the forests where wild populations remain.
