Friends of Vietnam Veterans Plaza Details
The Plaza is New York City's official Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The Memorial and the surrounding plaza provides and maintains a valuable and overdue tribute to the men and women who served in the Vietnam War. Visitors can view letters, news clippings, photos, honor plaques and diaries of those who fought in Vietnam as well as spend time near the Reflecting Fountain. Our mission as "Friends" of the Vietnam Veterans Plaza is to maintain the Memorial in order to ensure its preservation into the future, and to provide an appropriate setting which serves the needs of the community. We strive to bring the Plaza to a higher level of recognition, respect, and reflection and to sustain it as a constant reminder of New Yorkers' contributions and sacrifices during the Vietnam War.
