Are you an independent filmmaker seeking funding to start or finish your film? From the Heart Productions, a 501(c)3 non-profit, can help. Our mission is to a educate and assist independent filmmakers on raising the money they need for their documentaries, short, feature films and webseries. Carole Dean founded From the Heart Productions in 1993. Before that, she fostered the 70's explosion in indie films by buying leftover film stock from studios then reselling it at a discount to filmmakers. She saw how difficult it was for artists to raise money for their films. She created the Roy W. Dean Grant, pioneered fiscal sponsorship for filmmakers, and established the Intentional Filmmaking Class. The Roy W. Dean Grant is awarded 3 times a year to a documentary, short film, feature, or web series that is unique and makes a contribution to society. The grant has made possible many award winning films and kept important projects alive. Every applicant to the receives a free 15 minute consultation on their project. Our fiscal sponsorship program allows filmmakers to accept donations that are tax deductible for donors. This increases the potential for the amount they can raise. Filmmakers can use our fundraising platform which allows donors to cover all fundraising fees. Our fiscally sponsored filmmakers can also crowdfund on Indiegogo, Kickstarter, and Seed and Spark. Our filmmakers receive a free consultation on their project. They are eligible for discounts on hard drives, insurance, and more. The Intentional Filmmaking Class teaches filmmakers how to raise money for their film and to manifest for its success. It is taught by From the Heart founder and president Carole Dean and producer Tom Malloy. Carole is the author of the best selling fund raising book "The Art of Film Funding: 2nd Edition, Alternative Financing Concepts". Tom is the author of "Bankroll: A New Approach to Financing Feature Films".
