Frontier Innovations Foundation is a registered US non-profit focused on improving world-wide access of clean-energy. Our mission is to promote and significantly expand access to high quality clean energy solutions, through a focus on distribution and technology for the poor (also known as the base of pyramid) around the world. General InformationFrontier Innovations partners with social (for-profit) enterprises who are engaged in last-mile distribution of clean-energy systems, and work with them to formulate and design pilots that have the potential to redefine the way they carry out their work. We have isolated the most common and challenging areas (described below) that the foundation will address in partnership with last mile distribution companies on the ground. We engage donors and investors in the sector to help fund these pilots to address solutions for scaling, and the gaps in financing to support such growth.Scale• A peer network for distribution companies, to encourage strategic information sharing, collaborative problem solving and a collective voice;• Empowerment of women, who are not full economic participants; • Education of the end-customer about the health and financial benefits of clean energy solutions;• Product innovation that puts the end customer at the center of the design process, and encourages distribution companies to be more influential in the design process;Finance• Access to credit in the form of supply chain financing, to pool and make capital available to those who need to stock products that creates affordable, low risk access for their customers;• Supporting alternative payment mechanisms, such as pay-as-you-go efforts, to lower the financial barriers of accessing novel solutions.
