Formula Student is a collegiate competition developed by SAE International in the 1980s. The concept was bought about by the big-3 automotive manufacturers in America wanting higher skilled engineers to graduate from colleges and universities.The competition is made up of a series of dynamic and static events designed to test the the cars and the teams.Formula Student Sydney was born out of a want from Australia teams to have another competition within Australia to put their cars to the test. In 2019 the first Formula Student Sydney was held at Sydney Motorsport Park with exclusively dynamic events. The event was well received with teams and supporters and the organising team are currently exploring options for 2020 and beyond!
