Fulton Hogan Egis O&M Pty Ltd "FHEOM" have been awarded the 10-year contract, to provide Incident Response and Maintenance on Sydney's WestConnex Motorways – WestConnex M4, M5 East and WestConnex M8. This includes providing the Incident Response Crew, Maintenance Crew and M&E Technicians needed to ensure safe and efficient upkeep of the tunnel and open road network. When complete in 2023, WestConnex is expected to save motorists up to 40 minutes on a journey between Parramatta and Sydney Airport. WestConnex is being is delivered in stages. • Stage 1: WestConnex M4 (the New M4 Tunnels and the Widened M4), includes 5.5km tunnels and around 7.5km of surface roads. The WestConnex M4 links the M4 at Parramatta to the west, and Wattle Street and Parramatta Road at Haberfield to the east. The WestConnex M4 will also connect to the M4-M5 Link Tunnels and Rozelle Interchange in 2023.• Stage two: WestConnex M8 includes two twin 9km tunnels connecting Kingsgrove to a new interchange at St Peters. The WestConnex M8, double the capacity of the M5 East corridor. • Stage three: M4-M5 Link project will connect stages one and two through a new road tunnel, linking the M4 and M5 corridors. The M5 East Motorway opened in 2001 and is a 10km motorway linking the M5 South West with the CBD Sydney Airport, Eastern Suburbs and Port Botany.
