Fundación Mundo Juvenil (Youth World Foundation) was created in 1966 by a group of visionary citizens who understood that children's learning went beyond the formal processes and the walls of the classroom.The same year Mundo Juvenil obtanined an authorization to use part of the Carolina's Park from the Municipality of Quito (Commodatum) where the initial project was built with the contribution of private and government companies. So, a place to explore the science of the universe was inaugurated: the first planetarium in the city, a public library, a ecologic museum of Ecuador, a theater with capacity for 200 people, classrooms and auditoriums, all with the highest technology of the moment and a different architecture to serve children and adolescents from public and private schools. During these fifty-five years we have attended more than 1,900,000 visitors from the city and other Ecuadorian provinces.Mundo Juvenil has included a different perspective and also adapted to new challenges to contribute with the well-being and growth of micro businesses, informal sellers, and small entrepreneurs fostering fairs, seminars, and other meetings to help them to sell their products and services.
