Fundação Vitória Amazônica - FVA

FVA is a not-for-profit private foundation created in 1990. It was the first local environmental NGO based in Manaus and since its inception it has worked in close partnership with government agencies, at the municipal, state and federal levels, as well as with traditional and indigenous communities of the Amazon rainforest. FVA has formal partnerships established with ICMBio, the federal agency responsible for the management of protected areas (reference letter attached) and with SDS, the Amazonas State Sustainable Development Agency.Historically, FVA has been financed by international donors, as well as by Brazilian organizations and government agencies.
