The W.I.L.F. Next Door: Diary of a Funny Widow, Always following the "rules," she knew exactly what to expect in each of life's chapters, until now.When her husband suddenly passes away, her suburban bubble bursts and the only thing familiar is her warped and self-deprecating sense of humor. "Widow" was not supposed to refer to a 40-year-old mom, she thought. Instead of accepting her new station in life, she retreats to her guilty pleasure of reality television where terms like M.I.L.F. (Mom I'd like to f**k) and Cougar describe the well preserved, middle-aged woman. Everyone was getting a more glamorous label these days, so why not her? ... All the while, people were treating her like a contagious, alien. It was all too much for her broken brain to handle...And so, the W.I.L.F. was born. What is a W.I.L.F., you may ask? - "W.I.L.F." – to be used as a noun, a verb, or an adjective. From the Urban Dictionary meaning Widow I'd Like to F**k. "That widow is so hot, and I would like to *bleep* her right now." "Wow, what a W.I.L.F!" I am getting my W.I.L.F. on tonight!" And just for the record, W.I.L.F is not an act. It's not about having sex with the hot, cable-repair man on your kitchen counter (unless you want to). W.I.L.F. is a frame of mind.Our W.I.L.F. becomes her own awkward, reality experiment, documenting each encounter in a tell-all blog. From the gossipy, town, vulture-moms to the bazaar world of online dating, her evolution begins. She rapidly grows into a strong and sexual woman, a far cry from her conservative suburban life. Her blog gives her confidence and keeps her four best friends laughing right along with her. It's not until her W.I.L.F. life and real-life seem to swirl out of control, she is confronted with her friend's judgment and maybe her own judgment too.
