In the past, a high school diploma opened doors to middle-class economic opportunity. Today post-secondary education has become a required step toward achieving stable employment and financial security. Increasing opportunities for post-secondary education also plays an increasingly important role in breaking the cycle of poverty that has occurred with many US families. Despite extensive government and institutional efforts to improve access, fewer than 70% of US high school graduates currently attend college or other types of post-secondary education. To address these challenges, FutureBound provides an engaging and effective suite of educational video games that can significantly increase the number of youth—including underserved students—preparing for, applying to, and finding success in US colleges. FutureBound's products are a research-based and highly innovative effort that have been proven to develop the skills needed to master the college readiness and entry process and to succeed in college and beyond. FutureBound, based on a multidisciplinary collaboration between USC's Game Innovation Lab (Princeton Review's #1 rated game development program) and the Rossier School of Education, draws from the university's extensive experience in designing and testing numerous award-winning games.
