Futures have created and produced touring theatre since 1992, focusing on performing stories based on issues relevant and topical to women. In 1996 the company's programme expanded to include schools touring productions and drama based workshops, engaging with young people in mainstream, special needs and community settings. Futures have developed a strong reputation for delivering high quality theatre productions for young people addressing issues relevant to their lives and developed with target audiences. The company's artistic team combine music, dance, physical theatre and text to create inspiring and challenging theatre productions which address a wide range of issues. Alongside these performances the company runs a rolling programme of educational drama workshops tackling issues such as domestic abuse, bullying, sex and relationships, mental health and drug misuse. The company's drama education work has become well known for developing projects for hard to reach young people.The company has also developed a strong track record in providing training, using transferable skills to deliver drama based training for professionals and undergraduates within education, health and social care. Futures have been delivering training using drama methods since 1996 providing bespoke experiential learning experiences for workplace training. Futrures Theatre Company won the award for Best Cultural and Creative Business at the Lambeth Business Awards 2011.
