Gaia is a non-profit organization with more than 15 years of experience taking action for the environment through environmental programs such as: * Eco-Schools * Recycling * Cleaning rivers * Reforestation * Environmental volunteering * Sustainable development * Synergies and participation Gaia is currently initiating an integral environmental program called Eco-schools that encourages children through environment friendly technologies such as urban gardens, rainwater collection, composting, solar panels, with the scholar community enrolment. Through all these years: * We have planted 157,000 trees (11 acres total) * Intensive cleaning of rivers covering a total of 24 km * Recycled 225 tons of waste * More than 150 foreign volunteers have participated from over 11 countries in the International Workcamps supported by the UNESCO Commitee for International Voluntary Service * More than 50 workshops over 6 years, related to green roofs, sustainable design, permaculture, mushroom growing, composting and different types of urban agriculture * Installation of green roofs (HSBC Tower, Green Corner, etc.)
