Galanakis Laboratories is a family based enterprise located in Chania (Crete, Greece). They were established in 1925 and now are coordinated by two third generation chemistry scientists. For more than 88 years, they provide services and contribute in the implementation of food manufacturing, winemaking, chemical and environmental engineering projects in various public and private corporations. More specifically, they offer: (i) analyses of wine, must, grapes, water, olive oil, seed-oil, olive cake, honey, foods, milk, fertilizers, forages, aquacultures, soil etc, as well as determinations of environmental parameters;(ii) consulting on olive oil refineries set-up, trial use and production ramp-up;(iii) technical and chemical advice for wine, juice, olive oil and food industry, as well as technical consulting on new product development efforts;(iv) technical studies on environmental, chemical, industrial and techno-economical issues;(v) microbiological analysis on water and foods;(vi) consulting on high added-value compounds recovery from underutilized bioresources;Today, Galanakis Laboratories are developing to a major research and innovation point in Greece activating in the food and environmental sectors. They have well-trained and experienced personnel with numerous local and international nominations. They participate in research programmes as SME, while they collaborate with research institutions, companies and publishers around the world.
