3 Objects and activities of the company3.1 Objects Without derogating from the inherent powers of the company in any way, the objects of the company are to:(a) assist Aboriginal Australian and Torres Strait Islander individuals and families (Recipients) through the direct relief of sickness, poverty, suffering, distress and helplessness; (b) increase social inclusion, family cohesion and economic engagement of Recipients to relieve sickness, poverty, suffering, distress and helplessness by bringing the community together and directly addressing barriers that exist between the Recipients and the rest of the community; and(c) undertake such other steps as are necessary or incidental to further the above objects. 3.2 Activities Without derogating from the inherent powers of the company in any way, and in furtherance of the objects of the company, the activities of the company include: (a) developing, conducting and evaluating services, programs and other initiatives for the direct relief of sickness, poverty, suffering, distress and helplessness experienced by the Recipients. Examples include:(i) anger management and self healing programs aimed at alleviating mental and emotional suffering, distress and helplessness;(ii) capacity building initiatives to provide skills and confidence to better engage in family and social life;(iii) services aimed at understanding, coping with and overcoming trauma; and(iv) activities designed to positively contribute to physical, mental and moral wellbeing of the Recipients and especially in the case of younger Recipients, keep them away from other dangerous and destructive activities;(b) developing, conducting and evaluating education and training programs and modules primarily directed at alleviating the effects of helplessness, and relieving poverty and disadvantage of Recipients, by building their capacity.
