The core business is the design, manufacture and maintenance of train wash plants, rolling stock controlled emissions toilet emptying systems, fuelling stations, lubricating and monitoring systems and sanding systems.Garrandale Rail supply rolling stock heavy maintenance equipment including bogie drop systems, bogie handling & turning, lifting jacks, mobile & fixed working platforms & wheel lathes.Garrandale and Cranfield University have formed a strategic alliance to bring new technologies to the rail industry that will increase the sustainability of every day depot operations.Cleartrak is a smart toilet waste processing system for new trains and legacy fleets that keeps tracks clear and does it all on the move. It is a sustainable waste recycling and reduction system that works independently of any sewage network simplifying light maintenance depot operations. Demand on local mains water and sewerage capacity is reduced.Cleartrak reduces the cost of building new depots by eliminating the need for capital and operational investment in expensive specialist depot equipment and resources. It eliminates route constraints without impacting the environment giving more passengers access to more toilets on more journeys.Also in development is a train cab front cleaning robot. The mobile industrial robot, designed using state of the art autonomous technologies, is an independent unit that moves to the train & ensures consistent high quality cleaning.The robot eliminates health and safety risks from manual labour and will optimise rolling stock servicing processes, in turn reducing in-depot turnaround time.Garrandale is investing heavily in research and development and collaborating with industry specialists from across Europe, to build a group of businesses to deliver new sustainable technologies for tomorrow's Railways today.
