Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation (GIRF) is dedicated…To raise funds to support the physicians and scientists at The University of Chicago Medicine Digestive Diseases Center in their efforts to provide outstanding care, train future leaders and perform innovative clinical and laboratory research in order to treat, cure and prevent digestive diseases.Since 1961, the GI Research Foundation has been at the forefront of advancing scientific knowledge and transforming lives throughout the world. We exist to raise funds to support the physicians and scientists at the University of Chicago Medicine Digestive Diseases Center, nationally ranked in Gastroenterology and GI Surgery. From the discovery of the first gene associated with Crohn's disease to funding a groundbreaking study to discover the cause of ulcerative colitis, we are always on the brink of our next breakthrough. We will never be satisfied until we can all live a life free from digestive diseases.
