GatewayC is a FREE high-quality, evidence-based online cancer education programme developed for healthcare professionals across England, but mainly those working in primary care. The programme is fully funded by Health Education England and is hosted by The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.The programme has been developed by GPs, specialists and people affected by cancer. The education provided by GatewayC supports clinical decision-making, early detection of cancer, and improved management, care and support of those affected by cancer. GatewayC provides over 20 online courses covering various topics, from site-specific early diagnosis to the care that can be provided to patients throughout their cancer journey. Content includes filmed interactive consultations based on true patient experiences, interviews with specialists and patients, and reflective activities. All courses are RCGP accredited and supported by Cancer Research UK, Macmillan and other major cancer charities.GatewayC also runs a monthly ‘GatewayC Live' webinar series, providing a platform for healthcare professionals to engage with key issues of the day and generate debate regarding NHS recovery and clinical decision-making. Webinars can be viewed live, or the recordings and additional resources can be accessed on-demand. By completing a course or watching a webinar, users can gain over 50 CPD credits.
