Geauga County Public Library links more than 60,000 card-carrying patrons to a collection of resources and educational programming. We are a cornerstone of opportunity for families, students and businesses. Our patrons attend thousands of programs and check out more than two million items every year. We are a vital resource for early and sustained literacy programs, technological assistance, economic growth and community building. Our patrons look to us to:1. Partner with schools to achieve early literacy and reading readiness goals2. Provide community spaces for meetings and studying 3. Help citizens discover and use government resources, find and apply for jobs, and assist in providing scholarly sources for educational projects4. Offer technology assistance with computers, eReaders, smart phones and new devices5. House a comprehensive collection of educational and entertainment materials - made possible with our own holdings along with the Clevnet consortium - and assist patrons in finding the best materials they can to fill their needsThe Geauga County Public Library includes four full-service community Branches in Bainbridge, Chardon, Chesterland (Geauga West) and Middlefield; two library stations housed in schools in Newbury and Thompson; one Bookmobile that serves farms, nursing homes and nursery schools; and one administrative center where technical services, computer services, facilities and administrative functions reside. GCPL has more than 500,000 books and e-books. The collection also contains more than 100,000 audio / video items and 400 research databases available through its website. GCPL is a member of the SearchOhio / OhioLINK consortium, giving patrons access to more than 66 million items.
