Education Management - Geelong, Victoria, Australia
Established in 2001 as part of a Victorian Government intiative. LLENs connect employers, education and training providers, government groups, agencies and individuals and use local data to broker strategic, sustainable partnerships that support improved education and transition outcomes for young people, including increasing year 12 or equivalent attainment rates. As a partnership broker, the GRLLEN works with a broader cohort (10-19 year olds) and uses its knowledge of regional opportunites, needs and issues, and its networks with employers, training and education providers, parents and families and community agencies to set up pathways and opportunities that provide broader education, training and employment options for young people. The GRLLEN is vital in addressing skills needs and developing new opportunities for young people who are at risk of disengaging from education and training. LLENs put the focus on the needs of young people and emphasise cooperation between providers and agencies rather than competition and division.
