The Geneva Public Library was built in 1912 as a Carnegie library. A 5,600 square foot addition was built in 1995, bringing the total square footage of the library to 15,200. The Library is open Monday through Saturday for a total of 46 hours per week. The library is currently staffed by one full-time and two part-time employees, and the gardens surrounding the library are maintained by the Secret Garden committee.The Library maintains over 24,000 volumes. Resources include books, magazines, VHS and DVD movies, books on CD, and music CD's. The library has eleven computers with wireless internet service and various software, a fax machine, and a copy machine. There are three meeting rooms available to the public for various uses.The Library offers programs and activities year round, including LEGO® Night the fourth Thursday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Food For Fines program each May, summer reading program from mid-May to to July 31, and a used book sale for one week the beginning of December, just to name a few.The Genealogy Society of Fillmore County meets in the Small Meeting Room of the Library on the first Monday of each month at 2:00 p.m.
