Mitchell has traveled to Italy a total of 108 times…and perhaps again by the time you read this. One of his greatest pleasures while he travels is dining. When he is home in New York, he wants to eat just as he does in Italy…but his greatest motivation in opening GENTE (which means people) is to share his culinary favorites with his guests. At this casual, 65-seat restaurant in Midtown East, just steps from Grand Central Terminal, diners choose dishes from a menu that doubles as a travelogue.
