GenWye is a technology company that aims to offer products and services that imbibes convenience and customer choice. The company was founded by two Electrical Engineers with experience in consulting, manufacturing, operations and software development. Based on dissatisfied personal experience, the founders of GenWye set out to validate and solve problems associated with how parcels are sent and received. The validation phase incorporated end-user surveys; interviews with various courier companies and online retailers; and surveys conducted by market research companies. The main findings indicated that a majority of people are inconvenienced when parcels are delivered directly to them; furthermore, failed deliveries are a significant cost for the courier industry. As a result, GenWye is developing a smart locker system that offers convenience for parcel delivery. It is an electronic parcel hosting system that allows recipients to collect parcels at a predefined location, in a convenient manner and operates on a 24/7 model.
