Welcome to the official Linked In page of Geo-C Joint Doctorate in Geoinformatics: Enabling Open Cities. The international PhD Program in Geoinformatics: Enabling Open Cities is a cooperation of: * Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (WWU), Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi), Germany * Universitat Jaume I (UJI), Castellón, Dept. Information Systems (Lenguajes y Sistemas Informaticos), Spain, and, * Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL), NOVA Information Management School (NOVAIMS), Portugal. Embarking on a PhD is a big decision and great opportunity to engage with a specific topic over the course of three years. In addition to providing 15 scholarships, GEO-C offers a number of further exciting experiences. The core topic of the project, smart and open cities, is highly relevant to society as a whole as more and more people live in cities. The outcome of GEO-C (scientific contributions and a practical toolkit to realizer open cities) can have a significant impact on making cities in Europe and elsewhere more liveable places. The program provides substantial mobility allowance and thus will enable students to spend a significant amount of time abroad, i.e. at a research institution in different European countries.
