GeoCertify provides traceability and transparency solutions, and third-party certification of origin. We developed Internet-based traceability for coffee in 2007, working with Clinton-Hunter Foundation in Rwanda. In 2008 we added a transparency solution based on mobile technology, capturing coffee transactions at the small-holder farm level. In 2009 we developed consumer-traceability, placing 2-d barcodes on consumer packaging to link US-based end-consumers with producing coffee farmers. In 2010 we implemented a coffee traceability solution for Ethiopia, working with Starbucks, the Ethiopia Commodities Exchange, the Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union, and Hawassa University.
