Georgetown Renewable Energy and Environmental Network (GREEN) is the largest environmental student organization at Georgetown. We strive to promote the conservation, protection, and preservation of the environment through education, advocacy, volunteer work, and on-campus programs that engage students in being people for others and for the environment. Our goal is to create positive environmental impacts through active participation to benefit Georgetown University, the broader DC community, and the world at large. Our club activities include large general body meetings, social and educational events, and community service work, in addition to more specific projects led by six action-oriented teams: zero waste, environmental justice, energy and water, education, bees, and gardening. Through this decentralized structure, we encourage students with varying interests in the environment and time availability to participate in the club. Through our events and direct action GREEN serves to promote intersectional environmental literacy, make a tangible impact, and create a close-knit sense of community.
