Our general objective is to strengthen geothermal energy as a renewable energy resource for the domestic energy market in order to contribute to the carbon dioxide reduction targets. The group offers a platform for an open discussion of current advances and potential risks of the technology. It furthermore aims to highlight events and new research activities of the GAB and gives information on research and development of related deep geothermal projects. The GAB is a collaborative research project of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), the University of Bayreuth, the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich (LMU) and the Munich University of Applied Sciences, which combines interdisciplinary research strategies
