GetOn's vision is to grow and sustain efficient and effective skills development programmes that empower people, enhance dignity and encourage independence. We will achieve this through commitment and teamwork and engaging with communities to improve the quality of lives through targeted educational programmes aimed at creating stable families and empowered, independent individuals.GetOn Skills Development Centre provides training to disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16-35 of whom 100% of our students are black South Africans. We play a prominent role in the economic growth of our country, as we provide high caliber staff that have exceeded in our holistic training programmes which integrates Life Skills and Business Skills into all the courses, into the economic workforce of South Africa, either through employment opportunities or entrepreneur development. Our objective is to enable disadvantaged, and unemployed youth to become self-supportive and financially independent.In the 2017/2018 financial year; GetOn Skills Development Centre trained a total of 744 students. 357 students completed job specific courses of whom 80% were economically active within three months after completing their course.Research proved that 90% of the students that did job specific training between March 2016 to February 2017, were economically active after completing the course for a full 12-month period. For the 2018/2019 financial year we aim to train a total of 1572 unemployed, young people with 70% of the 650 students completing job specific courses becoming economically active or placed into internship programmes shortly after they finish the programme. To reach this target GetOn has developed good partnership with potential employers. GetOn currently has partnerships with Mr Price, Jam Clothing, TFG, Edcon, Smollan Group, Elite Hospitality and a number of smaller retailers.
