Food & Beverages - Nairobi, Nairobi County, Kenya
While Coffee was first introduced in Kenya in 1893, the first crop of Gibson's coffee was planted in the early 1960s by our father (Gibson) after Kenya won its independence from the British Government. On that small farm of five acres, Gibson planted the first Arabica coffee tree variety SL34/SL28 and went on to produce the best quality of Kenyan coffee the world has ever tasted. Now 50 years later, we continue produce the best quality coffee in hundreds of acres. Our combined farms are situated on the slopes of Mt. Kenya just a few meters from the equator horizon line. Gibson's coffee is first handpicked, then sorted & sun-dried. After that process, the parchment beans are sent to a milling factory where husks are pulped and the resulting green beans are mechanically separated into 7 grades according to size, shape and weight. There is an extraordinarily deep and full-bodied flavor which is rich in acidity and has a plethora of aromatic tasting notes that originate from the rich, volcanic soil that each coffee crop is grown in.We roast and package our coffee under our brand, then distribute our product locally through large supermarkets, mini malls & small businesses.Furthermore, we operate a few coffeehouses in Nairobi, Kenya which completes the coffee value economic chain through jobs that maintain high quality control standards to ensure that we procure manufacturing equipment, support the farmers, hire food staff & their families who maintain our industry with each cup of coffee consumed. In addition, we export our brand internationally through approved distributors and vendors. Therefore, we are calling upon the coffee community from connoisseurs to cafe owners who are interested in growing their local markets around the world to get in touch with us here and through our email. We hope to serve you well.Gibson's Coffee Limited is licensed by the Kenya Government to farm & market our coffee locally & internationally.
