Mechanical Or Industrial Engineering - Totnes, England, United Kingdom
Gilboys develops and produces organic natural beeswax products from our riverside building in Staverton Totnes. Gilboys was established early in 1994 by Simon Gilboy after completing a 4 year Dartington Trust apprenticeship in French Polishing. With the help of the Prince Charles Business Trust', Simon started his own business and immediately was fortunate to win contracts for French polishing furniture for the British Government and Kuwait University after the Gulf War. Of recent times Gilboys have been the chosen restorers for the furniture at the nearby Buckfast Abbey. The monks have been keeping bees at the abbey for centuries and are well known throughout the beekeeping world for one of the most famous; Brother Adam. His work, passion and research into beekeeping is still regarded as the foundation for all beekeeping. He introduced the Buckfast Bee which can now be found all over the world. This is the very place where the organic beeswax is harvested which is then blended to make Gilboys range of world class beeswax polishes.
