We are a 3-acre sustainable urban garden located in Atlanta's Westside neighborhood. Since 2012, our diversified garden produces beautiful vegetables, herbs, fresh eggs, and our very own dried spice blends.Gilliam's Community Garden serves as an outdoor educational center for local children, homeschool families and schools seeking unique science-based and STEM learning. We provide cooking classes for seniors, as well as learning tours and urban farming experiences for volunteer groups. We are also a beautiful urban garden wedding destination!Core to our mission is the determination to see more healthy, equitable communities across our city. We recognize that the most nutritious food must be more accessible, available and affordable to the people who most need it. Our mobile farmers market -- our beloved "green machine" -- allows us to deliver boxes of fresh vegetables to families, as well as home-bound seniors, who otherwise cannot access it on their own. In response to COVID-19, we distributed over 5,000 boxes of fresh, locally-grown food to families across metro Atlanta. And the need is still great.We are working hard to train more urban growers to help us produce an abundance of fresh food for the community during this time. Donations to Gilliam's Community Garden allow us to deliver our subsidized CSA boxes to food-insecure families across metro Atlanta, while continuing to educate, feed and nourish our neighbors.
