Girl Up Gang connects girls to each other and our network of girl leaders working together for gender equality in every corner of the globe. Girl Up was founded by the UN Foundation in 2010 as an initiative to help support UN agencies that focus on adolescent girls.The United Nations Foundation links the UN's work with others around the world, mobilizing the energy and expertise of business and non-governmental organizations to help the UN tackle issues including climate change, global health, peace and security, women's empowerment, poverty eradication, energy access, and U.S.-United Nations relations.Our girls' fundraising efforts support United Nations' programs (from agencies like UNICEF, UNHCR, UNFPA, and UN Women) that give adolescent girls in developing countries an equal chance for education, health, social and economic opportunities, and a life free from violence.Girls have a tremendous, often untapped power to change the world.
