Girls at Work, Inc. Details

Our vision is a world where every girl feels confident and capable.Teaching young girls how to use power tools safely to build is a great way for girls to recognize they are extremely capable, even in a very unfamiliar environment-a woodshop. We believe, if you push girls outside of their comfort zone and believe in them 110%, not only will they reach for that bar, but they will also surpass that bar. We recently had two girls in our Leadership Program building two challenging Adirondack chairs with only a finished chair to turn to for answers. These chairs represent all that girls are capable of if given the chance. It's time to for girls to rewrite their narrative of one that showcases them as powerful and capable. It is the mission of Girls at Work to offer programs to at-risk and other girls throughout New England. We actively seek funding and sponsorship to help subsidize the cost of our program to organizations that work with girls from group homes, low income, girls with incarcerated parents or parents in rehab, and we work to build partnerships with youth organizations that focus on girls at risk.We also build up teams with corporate builds for organizations. Teams work together to build picnic tables that they then get to donate to a local non-profit of their choice. Great for high school groups and private organizations too.Women's Power Builds are offered evenings and weekends to empower women to learn how to use power tools in a safe, supportive environment. Follow us on Facebook for events or check out our website. Birthday and private builds are also available. For more information about sponsorship, volunteering, and programs, please visit our website.Support us at: www.girlswork.org/givewww.GirlsWork.org | Info@GirlsWork.org | 603.345.0392Follow us on Facebook | Twitter | Instagram
