GEM is an agency of the Gitxaała Nation that is responsible for the protection of the environmental values of the Nation. Our primary role is to act as the point of contact for all works related to the environment in Gitxaała traditional territory while engaging with developers and government agencies to fully understand how development may impact the values of the Nation. GEM has provided environmental plans, monitoring, and biological services for various construction projects along with socio-economic studies and archaeological field work.
