One group of dogs is never seen by the public. They are the dogs in protective custody or medical quarantine. Although these are the population of dogs upon whom we focus, Give a Dog a Bone's programs are appropriate for any animal agency that holds dogsfor any length of time. Our programs provide Environmental Enrichment for dogs in long-term shelter care, changing daily lives of dogs in a species-impoverished environment through mental and physical stimulation, emotional nourishment, and rewards based training.Give a Dog a Bone is a quality of life program for long-term shelter dogs held at San Francisco's Animal Care & Control - the city's municipal shelter. GADAB is changing the bleak existence of these dogs every day, one chew toy, one play session, one bellyrub at a time. Find out more details about this unique program and the people who make it possible at www.gadab.org.Give a Dog a Bone shares our unique quality of life programs with other shelters via our website, our blog, FaceBook, and site visits.
