Welcome to glean, a platform to connect, learn and solve problems!According to Cambridge Dictionary, meaning of Glean is to collect information in small amounts and often with difficulty and that is our mission to connect the learners and coaches across the globe to collaborate with each other and eventually get quality education which otherwise is difficult to get. Glean, as mission, was started in India in 2020. India has over 900 universities (including private, public and open universities) and close to 40,0002 colleges with over 30Mn students registered for higher education. Despite of a reasonably good Pupil Teacher Ratio (PTR) of 212 in universities and colleges and availability of large number of industry professionals, who intend to contribute to society, the quality of education in India is not considered up to the world standard. Apart from few countries, the situation of academic learning is similar. While many countries has diversified fields and subjects for education, the employment opportunities are clustered and can be fulfilled by only a handful of courses. The admission to these courses is often difficult, considering the high demand. In addition, most of the courses across the countries are not designed for entrepreneurial initiatives, resulting in massive gap in opportunities for creating employments or getting ready for employment. Employers often raise concern of not finding good talent. In many cases, policies make it difficult to provide equal opportunities and freedom to choose talent across the borders, despite of globalisation. With above background, Glean was started as an open learning platform to connect the learners with educators across the globe and collaborate for learning opportunities. Learners can connect with fellow pupils with similar interest, participate in projects and will be able to get updates on news and views on subjects of their interest.
