The Global China Research Foundation (GCRF) is a Canada-based non-for-profit and non-governmental organization with global ambition on the study of China and the Chinese diaspora. It is gathered by budding scholars and students majorly in Canada who aspires to promote universal multiculturalism through developing a transnational intellectual group of China as well as overseas Chinese studies. The GCRF foresees scholarly contributions to multiple public and private sectors, including academic institution, social media, civil think tank, massive education, financial corporation and community service. It engages with professionals from these sectors and coordinates them altogether. Hence, the GCRF would further global understanding of China, the nation-state and society with tremendous internal complexity and mirrors international connection, and the Chinese, the flourishing community that transcends geographic, political and cultural boundaries. It aims to serve both the Chinese and non-Chinese worlds as an independent researcher, a policy advisor, a community builder, and a dedicator to public enlightenment. At the moment, the GCRF has strong concentration on the studies of the socio-political and economic development of greater China area (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) as well as Chinese immigrants in North America, Europe and Asia. Meanwhile, it is looking forward to expand the other aspects of China studies such as history and culture. It has recently registered in Toronto as its headquarter, and is currently working on the interviews with Canadian policy makers and the historical exhibition of Chinese community in Toronto.
