The Global Dietary Database (GDD) is an ongoing collaborative effort to compile, harmonize, and translate health- and nutrition-related data from around the world. Ultimately, GDD outputs will inform the most current and reliable estimates of food and nutrient consumption worldwide, particularly in poor and vulnerable populations, and provide reliable and robust data to inform global nutrition research and policy. The GDD is made possible by the contribution of primary data from members of The Global Nutrition and Policy Consortium, a collaborative of public health and nutrition experts from around the world. In accordance with GDD aims, The Consortium is accepting new members on a rolling basis; if you or your team would like to contribute primary public health or food/nutrient consumption data, please select "Join Our Study" on the project's website (below). At present, GDD output data is available upon request for 187 countries nested in 21 geographic regions, 2 demographic factors, 21 dietary factors, and 3 time points. Current work looks to expand the scope of data collection to include 5 demographic and 57 major dietary factors, all of which will become publicly available. To request current GDD data, please go to "Our Work," > "Requesting Data" on the project's website, and be sure to complete all four required items.
