GFSC provides mentoring, methods and materials to strengthen community resilience in times of crisis and change. GFSC helps localfacilitators and community leaders to increase capacity, sustainability and participation in their communities, agencies and organizations. In the GFSC process, an initial group of professionals are trained and mentored, enhancing particular skills appropriate for post-crisis social recovery. The initial group then shares these tools and techniques with an ever-expanding base of community members to increase the community's resourcefulness to address their challenges.
