Global Free Write seeks to equip students with the media literacy, communication, writing and critical thinking skills they need in order to navigate the 21st century. It informs them on the different forms of writing they may encounter as they peruse through the internet, drawing attention to the hidden biases an author subconsciously includes in his writing. Most importantly, Global Free Write aims to instill a sense of advocacy in its members. It wants to demonstrate that even high school students – those on the bridge between childhood and adulthood – possess the ability to evoke change by simply reporting and providing information in an unbiased manner.
