Global Research in Paediatrics (GRiP) is a network of scientists which aims to stimulate and facilitate the development and safe use of medicines in children. GRiP aims to become the leading research network in the field of paediatric clinical pharmacology. GRiP was created to address the lack of appropriate testing and information on paediatric drugs. GRiP partners are working to reduce the current fragmentation of the efforts to study and develop the use of medicine in children. To improve the health of children globally, GRiP will implement a comprehensive educational programme in paediatric pharmacology and will build an infrastructure which allows the integrated use of research capacity. The "Global Research in Paediatrics – Network of Excellence (GRiP)" is funded by the European Union under the Seventh Framework Programme. The funding started on 1 January 2011 and is expected to last until 31 December 2015.
