Global Visionaries is a Seattle-based, 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is: Empowering young people to become global leaders in creating a just and sustainable future. GV's goal is to fundamentally transform the way in which youth approach the problems facing their generation by acting in partnership with youth through trainings, leadership guidance, and by providing the organizational infrastructure in which youth can become visionary leaders. Our programs challenge students to build relationships that extend beyond borders, stereotypes, and politics in order to inspire a new generation of global leaders in creating a just and sustainable future. The year-long Leadership Program provides local youth with a global perspective, empowering them to understand the intrinsic relationships between local, international, social and environmental justice issues while instilling a life-long ethic of service and philanthropy. A highlight of the program is the extraordinary educational trips to Guatemala involving language and cultural immersion, volunteer work and adventure. GV participants gain a new perspective of the world by understanding the importance of being engaged and informed U.S. citizens. Participants leave the program knowing that every action they take has a ripple affect on society and the world as a whole.
