The Company was founded in 1981 to provide contract management and engineering services. The original focus was to service the Steel Industry with particular emphasis on cooling beds. As the company grew, manufacturing of parts, previously out-sourced, was brought in-house. In 1992, we expanded into the design and supply of recycling equipment including automobile shredders. Our early involvement was in the supply of replacement equipment only, but experience in the field allowed us to design and supply our own equipment, reflecting better maintenance-friendly designs. In 1993, a local tier-one automotive supplier hired GMB to design and build a testing fixture within a condensed time line. Since then, our expertise has expanded into the design and supply of complete systems including production lines utilizing the latest technologies. In 1998, the company underwent further expansion when we merged our machining operation with DML to form GMB Precision and launched GMB Packaging to design and build strapping and material handling equipment. We also entered into a joint- venture stamping operation with Orbo Precision operating as GMB Components. In 1999, GMB Fabrication was formed to produce all welded structures and perform heavy assembly. Today, GMB occupies a total of 45,000 square feet of space. As we grow together, we continually strive to offer our customers a complete package within the guidelines of the ISO 9001-1994 Quality Program.
