The GMIBS Project develops the tools others use to mine information about the earth. Our flagship prototype, Climate Change Intelligent Aide (CCIA) is being crowdfunded now! Please contribute! https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/climate-change-intelligent-aide/x/19244674#/Our climate is changing, and communities all over the world are struggling to keep pace with it. Drought, famine, flood, and other major environmental shifts put human lives at risk. That's why we're developing CCIA. CCIA lets communities track a wide variety of climate metrics, including water, air, and soil quality. All the information tracked by a CCIA module is uploaded to the internet so communities can see and understand their climate data in real time. Using the information collected by CCIA, communities can begin to plan how to adapt their settlements and activities to meet the changes they experience. CCIA uses recycled hardware components to keep down costs, providing climate monitoring that's affordable even for struggling communities. These recycled components also minimize CCIA's environmental impact, so the system doesn't add to the problem. Additionally, CCIA uses only open source software so that anyone can develop and contribute to the climate monitoring community.
